Aspiration: Learning Centre

"Where a community’s vision for education, learning, and a brighter future takes root."

LocationBhutiyachang
Date12-06-2026

During a recent visit to Bhutiyachang Tea Garden, The HAIF team discovered a story that reflects the power of community spirit, hope, and collective action. An LP School campus inside the tea garden had been closed after students were shifted to another LP School within the garden, leaving the premises unused. While the space remained quiet for a period, the dreams and determination of local youth brought a new purpose to the campus. With the support of Prachurdan, young community leaders came together to establish a small Learning Centre, creating opportunities for children from nearby communities to receive after-school education and access learning resources. The centre, with its small library and learning space, has become a place where children can explore knowledge, build confidence, and nurture their dreams for the future. What stands out is not just the revival of a physical space, but the aspiration of a community that believes education can open doors for the next generation.

Co-Learning Communities

The HAIF team visited the Learning Centre to understand the vision, challenges, and opportunities for further development of this community-led initiative. The discussions focused on exploring collaboration, connecting resources, and identifying ways to support the growth of the centre for its sustainable and holistic development. The enthusiasm and commitment of the young local leaders were truly inspiring. Their efforts show how grassroots leadership can transform challenges into opportunities and create meaningful change from within the community. With the right support, this space has the potential to evolve into a vibrant hub for education, creativity, skills, and community development. The journey of Bhutiyachang’s Learning Centre is a reminder that when communities hold on to hope and take ownership of their future, even abandoned spaces can become foundations for a better tomorrow.
